When was the last time you reviewed or pulled your credit report?

In order to maintain good financial standing, it is especially important that you monitor your credit profile to ensure there are no errors, omissions or evidence of identity theft or fraud. You can get copies of of your report from each of the three major credit reporting bureaus- Equifax, Experian and Trans Union for a small fee however you can obtain free copies every year online at www.annualcreditreport.com.

You can order all three credit bureaus at one time

Here are the websites for each reporting agency. These agencies are credit reporting agency and based on the information that they have on consumers, they come up with a credit score. When a consumer applies for a loan, be it a house, car, a credit card, a personal loan from a bank and so on, the lender requests information from these and they will send over the credit report and credit score to the lender. Based on that credit history the lender can then make a decision to give you a loan, or not give you one, and what your interest rate will be.

If Your Request for a Free Credit Report is Denied:

Contact the CRA directly to try to resolve the issue. The CRA should tell you the reason they denied your request and explain what to do next. Often, you will only need to provide information that was missing or incorrect on your application for a free credit report.
